Jesus Youth Ireland National Assembly

With great hope and joy, Jesus Youth Ireland’s National Assembly was held on Aug 31 and Sept 1. The Assembly gathered to listen to the JY International co-ordinator, Shoy Thomas on various aspects of leadership in ministry, which was followed by an inspiring talk by JY European co-ordinator Siljo Thomas on mission. Various discussions and reflections were held on the mission needs of Ireland and to brainstorm the focus areas.  In a spirit of prayer, the assembly proceeded to elect the new National Team, Family Team and Youth Team.  Jesteena Abraham is the new National Coordinator, Reji and Jomol are the family team Cordinators and Thomas Raju is the new Youth Team Coordinator. Wishing prayers and support to the new teams as they walk and lead the Jesus Youth mission in Ireland.

ARISE Youth Conference, UK

After more than 8 months of prayers, preparations and hard work, ARISE Youth Conference was held in the University of Worcester Arena, UK from 29th August to 1st September 2019. Over 360 young people from across the country participated in this festival of faith. Through their dynamic sessions, speakers such as Mark Nemo and George Devassy uncovered the theme for the conference: “I will make you an everlasting pride and a joy from generation to generation” (Is 60:15). Interactive workshops were held on a variety of topics including Faith and Science, Theology of the Body, Discernment, Prayer and Bible. Women’s only workshop ‘Precious’ and Men’s workshop ‘Braveheart’ were among the popular workshops. One Hope project, Rise theatre and Steve Murray added to this vibrant celebration of Faith along with Jesus Youth UK music ministry. Arise Conference was blessed with the presence of over 20 priests and religious sisters, including Bishop Ralph Heskett who celebrated the concluding mass. As an outcome of Arise, many new prayer meetings have started all over the country, and we pray that ARISE is only the beginning of this long journey.
