India – National Pro-Life Resource training program – Yes To Life
The first National Pro-Life Resource training program – ‘Yes To Life (Y2L)’ was held from July 12 to 14 at Assisi Shanti Kendra, Karukutty, Kerala. The name of the training was inspired by the ‘Yes To Life’ – ProLife conference organized by Vatican and attended by Jesus Youth a couple of months ago. 80 participants from across the country attended the training. The various sessions were animated by doctors and lay people including, Dr. Finto Francis, Dr. Jijo, Dr. Mammen, Dr. Tony, Mr. Johnson Poovathumkal, Dino Paul and an International resource – Carmel Nisha Pius Franco. We also had a few families who shared their real-life Pro-Life testimonies. The training covered various topics like dignity of human life, abortion, contraception, history of prolife, sexual revolution and population explosion. The participants were also given a brief overview on love/lust, pre-marital relationships, gender identity, homosexuality and pornography. The participants were divided into groups and
sent to nearby parishes and hospitals to deliver pro-life sessions for the catechism students and nursing staff. The Spirit of the Lord really worked in them during these 2 hours of ProLife ministering. All came back filled and inspired by the Holy Spirit after the outreach experience. 24/7 Intercession was the backbone and strength of the whole program. Many follow up events are being planned across the country in the coming months.

The one-on-one interaction with leaders, the reflections, input sessions, discussions and group dynamics, all enabled the participants to evaluate themselves and their understanding of the movement and the Church. Enriched in knowledge and filled with the power of the Spirit, the participants went back to their own mission places with a deep conviction of their call to be a Jesus Youth.
